Cupertino, CA, 16th of October 2017 – Amino , the IP/Cloud video software and device specialist, today announced that at SCTE’s Cable-Tec Expo 2017, the company will join a prestigious panel consisting of major industry players for an interactive workshop to discuss the explosive growth of Android TV and the steps operators can take to deploy it effectively.
Cable-Tec Expo which takes place in Denver, Colorado (Oct 18 – 20th), follows on the heels of IBC 2017 in September, where Android TV emerged as one of the hottest topics from the show floor. In addition, recent research from Ovum revealed that more than 60% of people working for video service operators in global markets viewed Android TV as the technology they were most likely to deploy on future set-top boxes.
On Thursday, October 19th at 1PM on Amino’s booth #1819, Amino will be joining representatives from Google and Verimatrix for a workshop, moderated by Colin Dixon , Chief Analyst and Founder, nScreen Media , to discuss how Android TV has evolved and how we can expect to see future adoption growth.

The workshop will look at how to achieve best practices for Android TV deployment, including: features and roadmap, satisfying content security requirements for linear and OTT content, supporting FCC mandates, ensuring legacy compatibility, and options for advanced in-home distribution, including wireless.

Google’s Android TV Operator Tier promises to revolutionise many operator business models by allowing service operators to own TV’s input 1 user experience and have their individual service as the default view for customers. This in turn, has brought conversation around Android TV’s evolution to the top of the TV industry agenda.
