Amino to show at IBC 2018 how ‘Operator Ready’ Android TV offers smart affordable way to meet the demands of modern consumers



Company CTO to give talk at IBC Content Everywhere Hub on maximizing opportunities in a real-world operator environment through the Google TV platform

Amino, the global media and entertainment technology solutions provider, has announced that it will show how its unique ‘Operator Ready’ Android TV offering empowers pay-TV operators to cost-effectively deliver modern TV experiences at IBC 2018 in Amsterdam September 14-18.

Leading Amino’s Android TV team at the show will be Mark Evensen, the company’s Chief Technology Officer and a leading global expert on the deployment of the Google platform. Evensen will discuss how Android enables pay-TV operators to deliver TV experiences in line with the major trends reshaping the modern television and video landscape when he presents a talk entitled "From 'operator tier' to 'operator ready' – maximising Android TV in a real world operator environment” at the Content Everywhere Hub theatre in Hall 14 at 3pm on Friday 14 September.

On its stand at IBC (#14.D26), Amino will demonstrate how Android TV is transforming operators’ ability to quickly deploy leading-edge features such as voice control, multiscreen delivery, federated search, personalized UX and the latest apps. Amino will showcase its ‘operator ready’ Android TV solution, an extended and enhanced version of the Google platform that integrates with an operator’s existing infrastructure and networks – while providing multicast and real time streaming protocol support, along with a service assurance platform and Google certifications.

Evensen adds: “Key to truly ‘operator ready’ Android TV is additional specialist backend support to upgrade and integrate multiscreen and traditional pay-TV functions – which is where our expertise, advice and innovative technology comes in.”

Demonstrations will highlight Amino’s ability to ensure Android TV compatibility with different supplier systems through AminoOS, its software solution for deploying and managing connected devices. The Amino team will also demo its ability to provide end-to-end Android TV integration via the AminoTV multiscreen video platform – and will discuss how its world first end-to-end Android TV deployment with Finnish pay-TV operator DNA Oyj provides a real-world example of this.

In addition, the company will showcase Android TV solutions employing managed devices (the subject of a recent Evenesen blog), which can be a branded, affordable one-stop route for operators looking to enable advanced features such as:
• Preloaded streaming services such as YouTube TV, Sling TV and Pluto TV
• Access to the Google Play store with more than 150 premium over-the-top (OTT) video services
• Pre-packaged advanced user experience functions such as voice control, search and content recommendations
